A promising area of research is immunotherapy. Various forms of immunotherapy are already widely used in cancer treatment.
The main question is how broadly Neutralising Antibodies (bNAbs) can be modified to make them more effective against HIV. Another option could be to modify CD4 cell protection in people with HIV in such a way that HIV no longer stands a chance, mimicking the CCR5-delta-32 protein mutation. CD8 cells are also under the microscope. How exactly do they work? And can they be modified?
